Greetings! Friendly-Neighborhood Instructional Technician, here!
Alright, rocky start, I'll admit; I really meant to hit the ground running a little better with more information and more help for you all while not overloading with new information, but I feel like I'm not getting these out quickly enough. Regardless, I'll keep trying (do feel free to give me some feedback in response as to what topics might be genuinely useful!)!
Today, I've put together a short video lesson covering Speech-to-Text, Text-to-Speech, and Translation services within M365 services, namely Microsoft Word, just to keep it simple.
As I state in the video (about 6 and a half minutes, not long), I'm certain that various other versions of these also exist within multiple other parts of M365 but it's hard to know exactly where to start since different people might have very different needs!
(As a small aside, I also created this video in Microsoft's Clipchamp, which is a new-ish screen recording software. I've never used it to do a whole video before and I'm much more familiar with other services, so it was a bit of a challenge and took longer than I expected and I was totally unable to find some features that I'm more accustomed to seeing in other software; it's totally possible I just didn't see them because I didn't know where to look or how to call them up! AGH! So, I promise I do understand that feeling and my whole purpose with these is to demonstrate that we're in this together and I'm here to help!
Further aside: after getting that far I ran into even more issues just trying to figure out how to get my video from a local file situation to viewable here in our knowledgebase! It reminds me a lot of issues sharing educational content via Canvas and the troubles I've seen there when something is supposed to work but then it doesn't. I'm even seeing that I could make some major improvements with some simple adjustments, e.g. changing my own screen resolution, saving the video at a higher quality, adjusting my audio settings, etc, etc. Anyway, I hope this video is useful and/or, at least, sparks some new ideas or questions that we can help with!)
